Prepare an accurate address, a clear contents record and the right customs questions for Spain.
Specify the destination, not just the country
Confirm the recipient’s full address, postcode, locality and any apartment or business information. Ask the carrier about the exact territory and route before promising coverage. A broad “Spain” selection is not enough to settle every customs or service question.
Use the recipient’s own address wording. A working phone or email supplied through the provider’s approved process can help resolve a delivery query, but it should not replace a complete postal address.
Distinguish the goods from the reason for sending
A commercial sale, a personal present and returned goods are different purposes. The item description still needs to explain what is in the box. Keep quantities, unit values, currency and total value consistent with the supporting record.
For example, “return” is not a complete description of a pair of shoes. Preserve the original order and return reference where applicable, and ask the chosen provider how the movement should be documented.
Check current import rules before handover
Read the current official EU guidance for covered distance-sale imports and the carrier’s Spain destination guide. Do not apply an old online duty-free threshold, invent an import charge or assume every item is treated identically.
The provider should explain which declaration and supporting documents its service needs and who is responsible for applicable charges. If an item needs a licence or specialist classification, obtain that before shipping rather than guessing a field entry.
Pack and label for the actual journey
Check destination and network restrictions, particularly for food, plants, medicines, liquids and batteries. Acceptance for a domestic UK product is not proof of acceptance to Spain. Keep prohibited-content checks separate from compensation exclusions.
Use suitable protection and measure the final sealed carton at its widest points. Match each label to its box and keep the barcode clear. Extra protection can change the final parcel size and any dimensional assessment.
Agree the follow-up plan
Tell the recipient when the parcel is physically handed over and share the reference securely. Keep the declaration, order/value record and receipt until the journey is resolved. If asked for further customs details, use the provider’s official channel.
Our country guide is preparation information. It does not offer live Spanish delivery rates, buy a label, determine import charges or guarantee a delivery day.
Questions worth clearing up
Can I get a live delivery price here?
No. SelectaParcel is currently an information website; online rates and booking are coming soon.
Does sending a gift remove customs requirements?
No. The shipment purpose may affect treatment, but accurate goods descriptions and the required documents are still needed.
