Create a repeatable packing process without assuming enterprise integrations.
Start with a compact dispatch sheet
Record the order, contents, packed measurements, chosen service, parcel count and handover evidence. Keep customer details secure and limit the record to what your team needs. A consistent sheet is easier to check than scattered messages.
Allocate time for preparation
A dispatch deadline includes picking, packing, checking, labelling and reaching the handover point. Build in time for address questions and unusual items. Do not promise same-day handover solely because an order arrived before a nominal cut-off.
Compare the whole service fit
Consider contents acceptance, size limits, tracking, handover practicality and applicable terms. A headline price alone does not describe the service or the cost of an avoidable correction.
Review recurring exceptions
Look for repeated measurement errors, weak cartons, unclear return instructions and missed cut-offs. Improve the process from recorded issues rather than assuming a new carrier will solve every problem. SelectaParcel offers information and tools, not an active business account service.
A compact dispatch check
Use the order record and physical parcel together. The following is a suggested manual check; it does not depend on an installed SelectaParcel integration.
| Record | What to reconcile | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Source order | Correct platform/order and authorised destination | Original order and any approved correction |
| Physical pieces | Parcel count, contents and labels match | Packing list and piece references |
| Measurements | Final outside dimensions and packed weight | Recorded readings and useful photos |
| Handover | Actual collection or accepted drop-off | Receipt or collection confirmation |
| Exception | Who resolves a query or return | Case number and relevant correspondence |
The daily cut-off in practice
A shop needs twenty minutes to pack and another fifteen to reach its handover point. Its customer-facing dispatch commitment must account for both tasks, plus a margin for an address problem. A courier cut-off alone is not the shop’s effective deadline.
Use this as a process example, not a statement that a SelectaParcel platform integration is available.
Questions worth clearing up
Is an integration available now?
No. These are operational resources. Store connections, order import and label purchasing are future functionality, not active services.
Does a generated label mean the customer order has shipped?
Not by itself. Confirm physical handover and follow the actual platform’s fulfilment process. Keep the order reference, piece labels and handover evidence linked so that a later query can be answered without guessing.
