THE USEFUL STARTING POINT

Make the return journey understandable before a customer needs it.

Separate the policy from the transport

A customer’s return rights and your store’s return policy are not the same thing as a courier label. Explain the relevant process clearly and seek professional advice where legal obligations are unclear. Do not imply buying postage settles the return decision.

Give packaging instructions that can be followed

Tell the sender to protect the contents and use suitable outer packaging. If the original carton is damaged, it may not be suitable for the return. A previous successful outward journey does not prove the box is still sound.

Link the return to the order

Use a return reference without putting unnecessary personal information on public paperwork. Record the parcel reference separately and confirm who will raise an issue if the return is delayed or damaged.

Check cross-border returns separately

A returned international purchase may need supporting records and a distinct customs explanation. Do not simply reuse the outward declaration or describe returned goods as a gift. SelectaParcel does not currently issue return labels or automate refunds.

A compact dispatch check

Use the order record and physical parcel together. The following is a suggested manual check; it does not depend on an installed SelectaParcel integration.

A damaged outer carton

A customer still has the original shipping box, but its corner is crushed. Explain how to obtain suitable replacement packaging rather than telling them to reuse it automatically. Keep the return reference and the chosen transport process distinct.

Use this as a process example, not a statement that a SelectaParcel platform integration is available.

Questions worth clearing up

Is an integration available now?

No. These are operational resources. Store connections, order import and label purchasing are future functionality, not active services.

Does a generated label mean the customer order has shipped?

Not by itself. Confirm physical handover and follow the actual platform’s fulfilment process. Keep the order reference, piece labels and handover evidence linked so that a later query can be answered without guessing.
