Reduce errors when several marketplaces share one packing bench.
Keep a unique order reference
Different marketplaces can use similar-looking customer and order details. Give each packing task an unambiguous link to its own source order. Keep the marketplace order number distinct from the eventual carrier tracking reference.
Batch by a useful operational rule
Group work by packing material, dispatch deadline or handover method, then check each order individually. A batch is an efficiency tool, not permission to assume every address, contents record and parcel size is the same.
Reconcile labels to boxes
Print only the labels that correspond to checked parcels. Verify the recipient and parcel count at the bench before attaching them. Set aside unclear orders rather than guessing how to complete a batch.
Design the exception lane
Have a clear process for missing address information, restricted contents, split orders and returns. Staff should know when to stop and ask. SelectaParcel’s marketplace material is educational; there is no live multi-marketplace order sync here.
A compact dispatch check
Use the order record and physical parcel together. The following is a suggested manual check; it does not depend on an installed SelectaParcel integration.
| Record | What to reconcile | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Source order | Correct platform/order and authorised destination | Original order and any approved correction |
| Physical pieces | Parcel count, contents and labels match | Packing list and piece references |
| Measurements | Final outside dimensions and packed weight | Recorded readings and useful photos |
| Handover | Actual collection or accepted drop-off | Receipt or collection confirmation |
| Exception | Who resolves a query or return | Case number and relevant correspondence |
Two similar orders on one bench
Two buyers order the same item from different marketplaces. Their names and cartons look similar. Reconcile each physical label to the source order before sealing the dispatch batch; item similarity is not an identity check.
Use this as a process example, not a statement that a SelectaParcel platform integration is available.
Questions worth clearing up
Is an integration available now?
No. These are operational resources. Store connections, order import and label purchasing are future functionality, not active services.
Does a generated label mean the customer order has shipped?
Not by itself. Confirm physical handover and follow the actual platform’s fulfilment process. Keep the order reference, piece labels and handover evidence linked so that a later query can be answered without guessing.
