Align your postage listing, handling plan and parcel evidence.
Set the expectation in the listing
eBay’s postage-option guidance is the starting point for the delivery choices shown to buyers. Use a handling time you can meet and an appropriate service for the item. Do not use a fast service name as a substitute for being ready to dispatch.
Check the order’s destination
Use the platform’s approved order details and address-change process. If a buyer sends a different address in a message, investigate through the platform before dispatch rather than silently replacing the order’s destination. Preserve the order record relevant to the shipment.
Keep the evidence with the sale
Record contents, final measurements, label reference and handover receipt. For a valuable or fragile item, retain condition and packing photographs. Tracking and evidence requirements can matter to a platform enquiry, so read the current applicable policy.
Prepare for a return
Keep return instructions consistent with the platform process and your legal obligations. A returned item needs an appropriate service and packaging too. SelectaParcel does not currently connect to eBay or purchase postage for eBay orders.
A compact dispatch check
Use the order record and physical parcel together. The following is a suggested manual check; it does not depend on an installed SelectaParcel integration.
| Record | What to reconcile | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Source order | Correct platform/order and authorised destination | Original order and any approved correction |
| Physical pieces | Parcel count, contents and labels match | Packing list and piece references |
| Measurements | Final outside dimensions and packed weight | Recorded readings and useful photos |
| Handover | Actual collection or accepted drop-off | Receipt or collection confirmation |
| Exception | Who resolves a query or return | Case number and relevant correspondence |
A buyer asks for a different address
A message arrives after a sale requesting a new destination. Pause the dispatch and use the platform’s current process to resolve it. Do not let a handwritten label override the order evidence you may later need.
Use this as a process example, not a statement that a SelectaParcel platform integration is available.
Questions worth clearing up
Is an integration available now?
No. These are operational resources. Store connections, order import and label purchasing are future functionality, not active services.
Does a generated label mean the customer order has shipped?
Not by itself. Confirm physical handover and follow the actual platform’s fulfilment process. Keep the order reference, piece labels and handover evidence linked so that a later query can be answered without guessing.
