Keep piece-level accuracy when the dispatch queue gets longer.
Count physical pieces, not just orders
One order may use several cartons and one carton may contain several items. Record those relationships before generating labels. A batch count of fifty orders does not necessarily mean fifty parcels.
Standardise where it is truthful
A standard carton can simplify preparation, but reweigh parcels when contents or protective materials vary. Do not copy an average weight into every label. Keep the correct measurement record linked to each physical box.
Use a final reconciliation point
Before collection, compare the prepared boxes, label count and dispatch list. Isolate duplicate labels, unclear contents and cancelled orders. Make the completed batch count explicit to the person handing it over.
Retain the handover evidence
Keep the collection or drop-off record and any piece-level references. Decide how your team will investigate an unscanned parcel without exposing another customer’s details. No bulk label or manifest function is active on SelectaParcel today.
A compact dispatch check
Use the order record and physical parcel together. The following is a suggested manual check; it does not depend on an installed SelectaParcel integration.
| Record | What to reconcile | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Source order | Correct platform/order and authorised destination | Original order and any approved correction |
| Physical pieces | Parcel count, contents and labels match | Packing list and piece references |
| Measurements | Final outside dimensions and packed weight | Recorded readings and useful photos |
| Handover | Actual collection or accepted drop-off | Receipt or collection confirmation |
| Exception | Who resolves a query or return | Case number and relevant correspondence |
Fifty orders, fifty-three boxes
Three orders each need a second carton. The collection batch therefore contains fifty-three pieces. Reconcile that physical count to the dispatch list rather than using the order count as the manifest count.
Use this as a process example, not a statement that a SelectaParcel platform integration is available.
Questions worth clearing up
Is an integration available now?
No. These are operational resources. Store connections, order import and label purchasing are future functionality, not active services.
Does a generated label mean the customer order has shipped?
Not by itself. Confirm physical handover and follow the actual platform’s fulfilment process. Keep the order reference, piece labels and handover evidence linked so that a later query can be answered without guessing.
